Both have brush applicators, are easy to apply and both seem to work well. An unusual element in this set is a latex strap. It's designed to be applied around the cuticles before buffing and then peels away the tape to leave a perfect line. In theory this should work easily, but it's a bit more complicated. In the instructions, you apply the base coat first, then the latex, and then the polish. Then you need to remove the latex. It is very important that the latex fits perfectly so that you get a nice line when pulling. However, achieving that perfect line requires the same skill as applying gel perfectly. And it is also important that the base is in the right place. So while this tape works, if you have the skills to use it properly, you'll also have the skin to do nails without it. You decide whether you want an extra step or not.
