Review on ☕ Red Primula Single Serve Coffee Brewer, 2-Pack - Brew Buddy by Kenneth Witte

Love it! Ideal for hiking, but also great for home use.

I love it! I took one before going on a 3 week trip to New Zealand that included several nights in campsites and hostels. I usually use a French Press, but I tried Brew Buddy to save weight and space. It's very easy to use, cleans and makes great coffee. I've used both as described by placing it on top of the mug I'll be drinking from, but I've also used it by brewing coffee in a separate container and then using Brew Buddy to pour the coffee grounds into a coffee mug. Many dorms had hot water in the kitchen, which meant a hot cup of coffee was ready in less than five minutes. Now I often use this at home when I want to have a cup of coffee. You'll have to experiment a little to find the best combination of grind size and time for your taste, but it's the same for any coffee maker. A few things to keep in mind that I don't think will detract from the scoring: You have to fill the cup/mug completely with hot water. If you have a 12 ounce mug, you can't just boil 8 ounces because the filter bag isn't hanging in the water. If you want to make a large batch, say 16 to 20+ ounces, using a wide and short container like a Pyrex measuring cup works better than a tall and thin travel mug. Finally, the transparent cup/mug makes it easier to see the correct amount of water being poured, but pouring water into multiple pours and checking the level between each was no real problem. And they are so cheap that I bought two of them. This turned out to be a smart move as I had left one in a cabin en route to Milford Sound. I hope everyone who picked it up realized how useful it is for the rest of their trek.
