Review on Car subwoofer Challenger Opus SD-250BX by Mateusz Cieciora ᠌

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The quality is ok on the whole, it has some small flaws.

My first car subwoofer. I knew that there would be no high-end in this price category. But the build quality and foil terminals disappointed. I installed 20 liters of net volume in the WL. Plays from Pioneer amplifier. GU is also a Pioneer. The car is a mid-size crossover. In my opinion, it is worth paying a little extra and buying a speaker from a well-known manufacturer than spending money on a crooked Chinese.

Pros
  • Price.
Cons
  • Build quality is below average. My speaker has a washer on a magnet that is crookedly glued. It does not seem to affect the sound quality, but it spoils the impression. Very thin terminals, made of foil. They bend and, look, they break. The holes for attaching the speaker to the strangely shaped case, even a self-tapping screw with a large head, do not press the basket well. There are no instructions and recommendations for registration. The sound is average. The bass is a little smeared. But this is subjective and depends on many factors.
