Review on Halo Home White Bluetooth 4.0 Smart Internet Access Bridge by Brian Page

Sometimes decides to stop operations and no customer support

When I first set it up it worked great. In fact, not only did my Alexa recognize each individual light (I have 5 in total), but it also recognized the groups I created in the HaloHome app. Then I had to turn off the power to replace an outlet in another room that wasn't connected to either the lights or the hub. Suddenly nothing happened. Nothing was recognized. I couldn't even log into my HaloHome account. So I created a new account and that didn't work either. I've tried all possible solutions. Remove the hub, reinstall it, clean it etc. Nothing helped. I contacted Eaton, the company that makes the headlights and hub, by phone, no customer service - I left a message that was never answered. I tried email but it took a few months to get a reply. Suddenly he decided to go back to work! But only this time it ONLY recognized my groups and not my devices. So I created a group for each light and it worked for a day or two. Then it completely stopped working again. When it worked again, it recognized both devices and groups, but the groups didn't respond when you tried to control them. But hey, at least it "worked". Since then it randomly decides to stop working from time to time and then restart for no apparent reason. I think it must be the hub, but even that doesn't explain why I sometimes can't log into the HaloHome app - credentials not found. Well not that I would have spent $250 for the whole setup and could buy a Philips system for about the same price and get much better service and most likely a better/working product.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
