We have 2 tanks and we use these in both. Every time we change water or add water, we take a blue bottle! We have found several benefits of using ReptiSafe.1 - We use filters that create a waterfall and splashes can leave hard water stains on the tank walls. The sides of the tanks were so full of watermarks that we couldn't see our turtles unless we looked over the top of the tank. We've found that there aren't many spots since we started doing this almost a year ago. 2 - Water stains are very difficult to wipe off! It's not safe to use detergent in the tank, so we drip it on a damp sponge and these stains are very easy to remove.3 - The water stays clear longer. We used to change half the water every week and we still had to take the tanks apart every 2 weeks to clear the slime from the swim platform steps and rocks. Often the water turned greenish and cloudy between cleanings. Now we change half the water once a week and rarely have to do more than change the filter cartridges. we clean. They used to "rework" for hours after we cleaned the tanks, but now their rocks stay where they want. There is no shock or disorientation, so the boys are much more relaxed.
