Bought to build a new pair of bikes. After breaking the bolt lugs on the cast aluminum clamp holding the handlebars, I decided to test the new wrench to see if it provided an accurate torque reading. I torqued the bolts to the specified torque but the clamp snapped - was the casting bad or was the wrench overtightened? I measured the distance from the bolt socket to the center of the wrench handle and carefully applied the exact amount of weight to get a known torque (in lbs), converted the test torque to N-meters and determined it manually (three times more). wrench section) to my satisfaction that the inexpensive wrench tightened the bolts to very accurate torque values! I just had a bad casting - and a great key! You need to be extra careful when setting the torque as the bars with the torque numbers are hard to see. I used a large magnifying glass to be sure of my settings.
