I bought this coffee maker on the 31st January 10 weeks ago. It was 4 stars and I figured all I needed was a coffee maker, nothing fancy so it looked good. The coffee was weak to begin with (no matter how much coffee I used. It also had a plastic taste and smell. So bad that I went through several coffee makers thinking I might just have to run it a few times because it was new. I tried 3 different coffees and thought maybe it was the coffee. Finally after about a month it wasn't so bad. I ran it on greasy and extra coffee but still not very good. After 10 weeks the clock started blinking like it had a short circuit I forgot for a few hours put something on the counter and felt it getting warm I looked found the clock had stopped showing, and lifted the jar to pot and almost burned myself before realizing it was hot.Although I wasn't using it the day it was turned on.I immediately turned it off, called Revain and they were ready, to replace it read it for me and i asked if they knew about similar problems and they told me there are other complaints but not like mine. they send me a replacement. I went through the complaints and found one that said the coffee tasted weird. I found a whole bunch saying it was dripping and there was coffee grounds in the coffee, none of that happened to me so I hoped it was just a lemon. So, 2nd round with a new one, follow all the same instructions to prepare for first use. Still, the weakest coffee looks like brown water, and the smell and taste are exactly the same, as if it contains plastic. I just threw the whole pot in the sink. If I couldn't give any stars here, I would. The fact that it has 4 stars worries me about the credibility of the rating system because unless you are selling different products to some people there is no way it can be 4 stars for anyone. When I do some research I don't get many bad products and I was just looking for a regular coffee pot but this is bad. I'll just accept the loss and throw it away. i am so disgusted I didn't think it was possible to make a bad drip coffee maker. I've had many with different brand names over the years. I chose this one and paid about $10 more than the Mr. Coffee I was planning to buy because it fit under a cabinet and I liked the pull out coffee filter. Big mistake. I don't think I'll want to buy another one here because I can't trust their review. That's why I wrote this review, it doesn't deserve a rating in any way.
