I chose this tool for my detailing company. I like to combine the wash step with the claybar step, but since it's water it's almost impossible to pull out on a corded polisher with a synthetic clay pad. So here comes this handy tool. It comes with a 4 inch base plate which fits my clay mat perfectly and with a little thought I wiped my hands to avoid damaging the tool and was able to get it out fairly easily.
