Some may say it's ok, but not me.
I bought it with the intention of cutting it into strips and rolling them into curved rings. They are too fragile for that. Even after soaking them in water overnight, they were very difficult to roll up without breaking. Most recently I tried using them on a cigar box that I am converting into a jewelry box. They split several times along the fibers. I can still get it to work, but they shouldn't be that brittle. I've since bought a roll of edging veneer. This works much better.
