This set has a lot, and I mean a lot, of beautiful veneer. Unfortunately you have to be a wood expert to know what it is as it has no legend or identification. Most of these are fairly easy to understand but I bought this to make and sell bentwood rings, unfortunately I need to do a lot of research to properly list my rings. Because of this, he loses a star.

There is a lot of variety in this package. The wood color is good. Some sheets were of very good quality, others not so much. I noticed diagonal saw marks on several sheets on one side. Several pieces of veneer were split and some had holes. So many knots. Some of them are so thin that when you glue them the glue seeps out the other side - keep in mind as many of the pieces are also very wavy you will need to glue/clamp them.

My 13 year old son bought these for lining. Only one piece had a tear across the sheet. I think I either read in the description that this could happen or someone else commented on it. I wasn't surprised or upset and thought it would be a good idea to have only one problem sheet. He's been making them for as long as veneer has existed and is happy with the various types of veneer that he has among his favourites. He's already planning to buy another set and make it his go-to for the fretboard.

I bought it with the intention of cutting it into strips and rolling them into curved rings. They are too fragile for that. Even after soaking them in water overnight, they were very difficult to roll up without breaking. Most recently I tried using them on a cigar box that I am converting into a jewelry box. They split several times along the fibers. I can still get it to work, but they shouldn't be that brittle. I've since bought a roll of edging veneer. This works much better.

Great choice and size. I mainly needed drill wood for making magnetic knife/kitchen tool holders. Among other things, I received 2 brown wood veneers in a variety. One is light in color, the other may be hazel because it is brown. Some veneers vary slightly in size, but using two veneers I can make 4 4x12" knife holders. I bought these for a project I have been planning for a long time and was personally really surprised at how large these sheets are. There is a wide range of beautiful woods to choose from and this is definitely a must have for those trying to get a better idea of what they need for their own projects. Purchased 13th February 2019 - although the veneers are Sauers veneers the package I received was not a sealed package. In fact, the original packaging was not included. The veneer arrived as separate sheets, repackaged between two boxes. There are several sheets (6 of the same type, several others) of the same veneer type. Great product. Sheets are 5.5" to 7.5" x 12 wide. If my calculations are correct, I have about 38 sheets at about 1/3 of the 7.5" x 12". This contains a good range and sheets range from flawless straight grain to full grain and quite a bit of curl, but don't buy if you're looking for matching sheets. A piece of walnut burl in my pack is a bit wavy and has small voids, but on par with another walnut burl I've purchased and with an intense figure, a perfect piece is probably rare. For some nuts…
