This is the best lens I've bought in a long time for its convenience - I put it on an Olympus PEN E-P2 camera that hasn't been used. Now I've converted my old camera into a good camera that you can take anywhere without any problems. I just turn on the camera, the lens pops up and I'm good to go. I also bought an auto open/close lens cap for the lens, no cap to take off and store, perfect. The zoom is very smooth and quiet - I haven't tried it on my GH4 yet, but I like the quiet operation. You can also program the zoom between two objects. For me, the old camera feels like new again while having it nearby, ready to shoot. GOOD - The 35mm equivalent of 28-84mm for my M 4/3 format camera is just right for what I use it for. Lens quality is good, fairly sharp, not that fast but for what I use it's excellent. I use it for work and take 100-200 shots a day of boat parts, in the sea, detail and damage. Overall a good lens for the money. 600+ pics right now, ok. OK - Although I knew this before buying it, it's not very good for nearby work. If you want macro capabilities this isn't your lens, but it works well at 7-8 inches. With the good image quality of my old E-P2, I get really good cropped images when shooting in RAW, so I don't need macro skills. Olympus sells a macro screw on an adapter (I don't really like adapters) and I can buy it and try it. BAD - Not for me.
