Great lens for your money.

Love the low profile and motorized zoom. This is the perfect complement to my OMD E-M1 II. The results I'm getting are excellent. The 14-42 zoom gives you more flexibility for close-up, street and landscape shots. The perfect complement to my 12-200 lens. Well done. I recommend using a UV filter and a lens hood. Just got back from a hike in the Southwest and found that this lens, my camera and a clip from Peak Designs can make versatile day hike companions.

Gotta love Pancake Zoom.

Here is a review we just received. Time will tell if I edit this to fix any issues. This is a great all round lens that gives me the range I need without a lot of kit lens. I use it on an Olympus OM-D E-M10 and together they are an amazing combination. Focusing is quick and the zoom works, which is a bit different than any other M4/3 lens I have in my kit. But I'm slowly getting used to it. I really wish Olympus had a lens cap that opens automatically on this lens. I'll probably get to that at…

Better than expected

I bought this lens to use with the M10 when I need to snap some quick snaps at an event. I wanted something lighter and more compact than the 12-50. Received it just before President's Day weekend and had the opportunity to take it to several locations for everyday photography. I found it to focus quickly and accurately in almost every situation. Surprisingly, at apertures up to about 7.1, the images were quite sharp even at the edges. Colors are accurate and contrasting. Lens flare is…

For its intended purpose, this is an excellent lens.

I have many Olympus lenses, all of which serve different purposes. To use the omd and pen series as a pocket camera, this lens is a must. Certainly not very good in low light. not built for action. But for a day with the family. day in the city. or to always have your camera with you, this lens must be very versatile. I bought it for 200 on sale and it's no problem. I had to buy an auto-close lens cap, I will order it soon. The added image has no post-processing. I just put it on my OMD EM10…

Not bad, a bit noisy

Seems good. Use it on DJI Inspire 1 v2 Pro with Zenmuse X5. It seems quite noisy and not very smooth to zoom. It seems to jump a bit from one zoom level to the next zoom level. Images look fairly sharp, but not as sharp as one of the fixed focal length lenses (25mm or 45mm M.Zuiko). I hoped that would save me the landing. and change lenses for different shots, but I don't think so. It's a good lens, good enough to use and enjoy. I don't know if it's enough for professional work. For hobbyists…

Be careful when handling

Bought a replacement for a failed Olympus Pen-F that didn't retract the lens. Studies have shown that the failure was due to internal flexible cables. It has not been abused and only used internally. The replacement initially malfunctioned and did not hold the extended position and there was a blur at the bottom of the image. Cleaning the contacts on the camera body and lens eliminated the "auto feed". Cleaning the lens solved the blur problem. The Olympus Pen-F is a very versatile device, but…

It's okay, but not great.

I bought this lens as a travel lens to use with an Olympus pen camera. My regular camera is bigger than a Nikon but I like to carry an Olympus with me so I have a compact but good quality camera when I'm away from home but mostly not taking photos. I thought this compact 14-42 would be good for a pocket camera. The good news is that this lens is a good compact body. The less good news is that the optical quality does not live up to the longer Olympus 14-42. Focus is soft, although I've been…

Because of this, this is the best lens I have ever bought.

This is the best lens I've bought in a long time for its convenience - I put it on an Olympus PEN E-P2 camera that hasn't been used. Now I've converted my old camera into a good camera that you can take anywhere without any problems. I just turn on the camera, the lens pops up and I'm good to go. I also bought an auto open/close lens cap for the lens, no cap to take off and store, perfect. The zoom is very smooth and quiet - I haven't tried it on my GH4 yet, but I like the quiet operation. You…

Excellent compact lens

I've been looking and researching for a while for a new camera that can replace my old Fuji X-100 as my main camera and Oly 620 SLR. However, I googled back and forth between the Canon G5X and the Olympus OM-D M5 Mark II as I wasn't sure if I really needed all the Oly features. I decided to buy Olya and a 12-42 Pro lens but didn't know about this lens. My main lens for Oly will be the 12-42 Pro as it really is an excellent lens. However, I saw this lens after I bought my Oly and thought I'd buy
