Revainrating 2 out of 5

Meh, not junk, but bad instructions, bad software, and inability to get to rated speed.

First off: no GFI, no AFCI, no incandescent lights and no fluorescent lights (LEDs) plugged directly into the wall. (tested in several places at home). A few problems I have: 1. Setting up the encryption according to the instructions (manual and website) turns out to be wrong: you don't keep the sync for 15 seconds, you go to another and press for 3 seconds. Press the timing button for about 6 seconds, when the light goes out, release it. Go to another block, do the same. Here's how I synced mine with the new encryption.2. Speed is OK, but nowhere near the rating: I got 80Mbps to 200Mbps in speed tests, not bad, but definitely not what it was rated for. As you can see from the tests. My first test used my wired network: download speed 870/35. I have a gigabit backbone at home, I tested these powerline adapters to install at a client (IT guy here). The second and third tests use my ethernet port and powerline adapters (located in different places in the house). I know this isn't the ultimate test, but gives you a good idea.3. Be careful with installation software. It uses winpcap. This software is no longer supported and has a DLL hijacking vulnerability. If you are using the installer software, you will need to uninstall it once it is complete. Good: Can reach up to 250Mbps, so it's good for my client since his internet is only 100Mbps. Bad: Poor instructions, no updated setup software, and invalid specifications. 2 stars because I won't be returning it as it fits my needs, but if you're trying to promote 4K videos or have faster internet there may be better solutions.
