I was happy to get a new modem and return my Comcast lease to them to save money and get better speeds. Unfortunately this did not happen. I've been hooking up this modem for almost a month and the speed is incredibly unstable. Sometimes I get download speeds of 250Mbps which I pay for. Sometimes I get less than 1Mbps, making it impossible to stream, play games, or even work effectively on a laptop. I work from home so a solid connection and reliable speed is a must. I called Comcast 10-12 times to troubleshoot and 2 techs came to my house and checked the line. Today I hooked up my old Comcast modem after trying everything I could to get this modem to work as advertised. The old Comcast modem hit top speeds right off the bat and remains stable. So if I get incredibly slow speeds all morning with this modem, and then within 15 minutes of plugging in the old Comcast I immediately get the top end speed, I know it's a modem. I'll come back in a few days once I've tested the compatibility with the old Comcast modem. I hate that it didn't work, but I'd rather pay monthly to get good speeds than get inconsistent speeds from this modem.
