Get it right or it WON'T WORK.

So I always see people asking how much for this size, how much for this size. Here please. I received a 15 pound bag and it was perfect for my 10 gallon tank that will be planted soon. A clean two inches in all directions. As stated in the product description, it is dark brown. Not black. More chocolate. And because I keep seeing people complain about muddy water; NO, the product is not bad, you are just NOT doing it RIGHT. Do this: - I washed up in the sink in a pillowcase. Within 5 minutes the water became clear. I poured the wet substrate into the pool. I put a small plate directly on the substrate. SLOWLY pour just a few inches of water onto the plate. I would suggest using something with a spout. I clear the plate. I add any plants/rocks/driftwood/decorations that go straight into the substrate. Don't worry too much about current substrate placement. With this little spout water dispenser, I press the edge of the spout against the back of the tank and pour SLOWLY to fill the rest of the tank. washed, the visibility should be sufficient to give the substrate the desired shape. DO THIS BEFORE THE TANK IS COMPLETELY CLEANED. With this method, any cloudiness in the water will disappear within an hour, especially if your filter is working. In the worst case 24 hours. YOU HAVE TO BE PATIENT. Without this you will not succeed in this hobby, there is no quick way to properly install a new tank.
