Plants grow without the addition of chemicals

Flour really helped my plants to take root! so hard to keep clean). So I've been looking for the perfect combination for a long time to have thriving plants without using root tabs. That's when I stumbled across fluorite and after reading all the reviews I decided to just use black fluorite but I was planning on getting cory cats so I had to put sand on top of the fluorite. a little cheaper than fluorite black back then. and upon its arrival I noticed that it was MUCH rougher for the ground…

Best Do Not Disturb Fish And Aquatic Animals

I literally poured half the bag into a small storage container, added some water, swirled around and poured the water out 3 times, not even waiting until the water was clear. Then I put it in the tank. It was very cloudy at first, like mud, but the key is to just wait. It works out. I went to bed and the next morning everything was decided. I did the same with the sand I already had (my fish's natural habitat is a sand pad). I planted my plants, dumped sand on it and it didn't even fog up…

The most overrated aquarium product? Maybe.

I've had it in my new planter for two months now. Some thoughts: Fluorite is dusty, no: more than dusty. There is less dusty dust. Flushing is a daytime activity and even then I had to run a micro filter when adding water to the tank. However, I get a lot more dust in the water after transplanting than I'm used to. Plants don't root - they're too light and boxy to even pack. I also had to cover areas with plants like rotala that just couldn't stay down with a layer of fine red flint gravel. I…

Excellent substrate. i love color

I love the Flourite Dark color it gives a natural look to the aquarium. Under bright aquarium lighting, Flourite Dark is the color of Hershey's milk chocolate. The pieces of substrate are uneven and rough and seem to grip the plants better. I had absolutely no problems with cloudiness. The attached picture was taken 30 minutes after replacing my old gravel substrate with Flourite Dark and putting back all the rocks, driftwood and plants. I took the advice of one of the reviewers, K. Anderson…

Get it right or it WON'T WORK.

So I always see people asking how much for this size, how much for this size. Here please. I received a 15 pound bag and it was perfect for my 10 gallon tank that will be planted soon. A clean two inches in all directions. As stated in the product description, it is dark brown. Not black. More chocolate. And because I keep seeing people complain about muddy water; NO, the product is not bad, you are just NOT doing it RIGHT. Do this: - I washed up in the sink in a pillowcase. Within 5 minutes…

Very good gravel growing medium

I have used a number of different types of Flourite in various plantings over the years. On my last install I used 3 different Flourites including this Flourite Dark. I used it as a "base coat" and applied Flourite Black Sand on top. Flourite Dark is not all black or muddy red like the standard and red varieties. It's a bit like. easy. dark brown/purple I think. Looks good but as I said mine is covered in black sand for a sandier aesthetic. I wanted a coarser gravel bottom to secure the roots…
