I purchased this item to replace a worn/broken original floor switch on a lamp. This one works better than the original! However, I agree with other reviewers who complain about the documentation - it's incomplete. If I hadn't taken the original broken switch apart to fix it, I wouldn't have a clue how to install a new one. Even with that previous "exercise" there were some puzzles to solve to figure out this new switch with a slightly different design. The problem is easily solved: Add the missing steps to the guide. I'll try to describe the "fix" but that really needs a picture. After splitting the lamp cord into two separate wires, the uncut wire should be inserted into the curved side channel surrounding the central cavity that contains the switch. So this uncut wire is bent 90 degrees after entering the switch body, passed through the bent channel, and then bent another 90 degrees to exit the other side of the switch body. The cut wire has two cut ends, each with a stripped/bare end. Insert one bare end into the hole on one side of the switch itself and thread the other bare end into the hole on the OPPOSITE side of the switch and tighten the screws holding the wires in the switch. Then assemble the body.
