Just received but very satisfied. There are many ways to place it. Basically, I wanted him to be able to sit on the couch and at the computer at the same time. It's great for that and a big improvement over sitting with a laptop on my lap: it doesn't heat up my leg (or laptop) when I move, it stays pretty stable, it helps me sit more upright for my posture, Mouse tray simplifies mouse use. It also turns the table into a makeshift podium for small presentations. My daughter was ill and I was able to get in bed with her so she felt safe and still be able to sit up and be productive while she slept. There were two important factors in selecting this particular model: it's vented, and many aren't. extends the life of my laptop and has a mouse tray. Adjusting both sides can be a little tricky, but there are indicators to help. I'm going to mark my favorite positions with permanent markers to make it easier to go straight to where it needs to be on both sides. So far very happy with this purchase.
