Saved me $410 - Replacement parts

I thought it would be silly to think about it because it's just an antenna for my truck but it had to be fixed. When I called and made an appointment with our local Toyota dealer, they offered me $420 to replace the little black thing that holds the antenna in place and keeps water out. They said they had to fish out a new wire to the radio, climb into the dash, rip everything out and replace it. So I googled and saw a guy make it in less than 5 minutes. I counted 10 dollars, I will try. I needed 10 pieces. My rubber thing fell apart so I ended up splitting it in two. and scratched my truck a bit. So, using needle nose pliers (or two), a long thin flathead screwdriver, and a small wrench (to loosen the antenna), I made it pretty easy. I needed the painters to tape the hole to keep my paint around the edge. I also had to wet the rubber piece before inserting it. So yes, do it yourself. The product is what it should be and looks like a factory original Toyota. I don't know if that's true or not, but it fits perfectly. Photos before and after.
