Review on πŸ“Ί Enhance Your Xfinity Experience: XR8 U1 Remote Out of Sight Adapter with Pairing - Sleek & Compatible with XR11 Voice Control Remote by Nick Atkinson

Revainrating 4 out of 5

A good solution to many TV problems. It worked very well for me despite poor instructions.

I bought three of these to use at my friend's restaurant. They have 3 tv's in the bar of their restaurant and the tv's are hanging a bit close together on the wall. This RF receiver eliminates the problem of changing channels on multiple TVs when you try to change the channel on just one of them. This essentially changes the way the set-top box (cable box) receives the signal from the remote control. Normally you need to point the remote control at the cable box and the remote control sends a signal to the cable box via IR (infrared light) signals. Mounting on the back of the cable box allows the remote control to send a signal via RF (radio frequency) eliminating the need for "line of sight" as you are no longer sending the signal via invisible (infrared) light. A few things to remember: It only works with the XR5 and XR11 remotes as unlike other remotes they can emit RF signals. Second, your cable box must have a 3.5mm jack on the back, usually labeled "IR Remote" or "IR IN" or something like that in order for this device to be connected. week I decided to deduct a star for the poor documentation that accompanies it. Luckily I was able to decipher the pairing instructions and I'll try to clear up some misunderstandings. Step one: Connect this device to the back of the cable box. The status light should turn on and then turn off. Step Two: Press the button labeled "PAIR” on this device. Step Three: Press and hold the "SETUP" button on the XR5 or XR11 remote for a few seconds. (Keep a close eye on the status LED on top of the XR5 or XR11 remote.) Step 4: When the status LED on the XR5 or XR11 changes color from RED to GREEN, release the "SETUP" button on the remote control , then immediately press the button labeled "XFINITY" on the remote control. The status LED on the remote control should go out and then blink green twice to confirm successful programming. To test this, I unplugged the cable box (to simulate a power outage) and also removed the batteries from the remote, and after reconnecting and reinserting the batteries, the remote was still successfully paired. It's a handy little device that (so far) works well. I hope my guide helped clear up a bit of the confusion.
