I bought this lotion online as a replacement as my regular store sometimes doesn't stock it. I've just used up a bottle I bought from the store and tried this one. I immediately noticed the consistency and then the smell blew me away. Regular amlactin smells, but it's more like the chemical ammonia. It smelled totally sour and like it had gone bad. The color was darker than the real bottle. I asked someone else to compare the bottle I bought from the store to this one and they also knew they weren't the same. Do not buy!
