They work great on the UDS lid.

I bought these to hold the lid on my UDS (Ugly Drum Smoker) and they work great. I particularly like that the folded end grips the edge of the lid fairly well without snagging. I used my smallest (1/8" - 1/2") uni-bit step drill and 1/8" stainless steel rivets and backing plates (thick washers for use with rivets) and installed them in just a few minutes few minutes.Measure from the bottom of the rounded edge of the drum, drill 1-1/2" and 2-1/2" holes and you're done.
