Review on Kegco KC LH 542 2 Product Regulator by Theresa Roberts

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Duotight approved: kegs and kegs

Despite all the bad reviews, the one I bought works well. I hooked it up to a full 20lb carbon dioxide tank, pressurized it, set the gauge to 15psi, turned off the gas in the carbon dioxide tank and left it alone. After 2 days I noticed it had lost about 2-3 psi so I tightened the connection to the CO2 tank (about ¼ turn), turned the pressure back up and left it for 2 weeks. The pressure gauge held the pressure without losing even 1 psi. hose with an inner diameter of 5 mm and an outer diameter of 8 mm). This is a big plus (see below). If you are unfamiliar with the duotight and evabarrier lines, I recommend them for their ease of use and almost guaranteed leak-free. I have purchased three other CO2 regulators in the last month: a SPARC Premium CO2 regulator and a 0-3000 PSI CGA320 2YR gauge. US Guarantee - Rubbish; I may have bent the stem a bit when trying to remove a notch (which I couldn't remove). I doubt the slight pressure I applied caused the gas to leak out. However, since I tried to use a wrench, I didn't feel entitled to return it. FERRODAY Dual CO2 Pressure Gauge Draft Beer Regulator CGA-320 Two Stage CO2 Pressure Regulator - after purchasing it and after the problems with SPARC I realized that the hose barb is not removable so I didn't even try it. However, this regulator holds pressure without leaking. Micro Matic Premium Double Gauge CO2 Reg. with a check valve - this does not suit me at all; Little did I know I had to use a screwdriver to adjust the pressure (a cap that looks like a pressure adjustment knob, just a cap to prevent "unauthorized" pressure changes). For me it's stupid. I've tried removing the hose fitting but it doesn't look like it's possible and I don't want to risk ruining it. I will be sending the Micro Matic and email to see if it is detachable. Of the four CO2 regulators listed above (I have the fifth from MB, the KOMOS® Dual Gauge CO2 regulator which is 100% REALLY good for pressure faucets), the Kegco KC LH-542-2 is the only regulator that the that can be used with sealed connectors. There's a pressure setting, which isn't the most accurate, and I can feel bad threads when turning. I suppose a small complaint given the fact that he's pressuring me. There are more junk CO2 regulators out there than decent ones, let alone good ones. Maybe KOMOS outshines them all?
