Review on πŸ’¦ Klean Kanteen Classic Stainless Steel Water Bottle with Klean Coat, Leak-Proof Cap – Single Wall Design by Robert Farrar

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I love this bottle!

I have had a 27 oz bottle of Klean Kanteen for over 4 years and love it so much I decided to get a 64 oz bottle for work so I don't have to go to the water dispenser so much must frequently. . I also bought this because I went through a total of 3 jars at work and got tired of breaking them all. As expected, this thing can get heavy when full. The good news is that it was only a few bucks more than the 40 oz and if I really wanted to I could just fill it 2/3 full and end up with a lighter bottle. Within 4 hours I can feel the water heating up, but by this point more than half the bottle has been used. Ironically, I don't drink as much water every day as I thought I would. I guess having it on hand doesn't always mean I drink more. The bottle is very stylish and very affordable at Revain. Back to the 27 ounces I've had for years. It has been varnished and most of the paint is still on it. The paint on the bottom of the bottle faded after just a few months, but the case held up well until recently when it fell behind the bed frame and broke away from the metal. That was to be expected as it was against sharp metal and guess what, I'm glad it happened because it just proves that the bottle is sturdy and won't puncture when pressed against the sharp edge of the bed frame . That's why I chose gray this time and I'm happy with my purchase. Some people say there is a metallic taste. The only time I've noticed this is when I rinse the bottle with hot water and immediately pour cold water in and then drink it. Give it about 5-10 minutes to come back up to temperature, or give it a second rinse with cold water in between. My only real problem is the official Klean Kanteen tops. At the time of writing this review, they offer flip-up plastic caps that come with bottles, sports caps that sometimes come with bottles or can usually be bought for $5-6, and a bamboo cap that is basically the same as the plastic cap it is more eco-friendly and stylish. I now have two sport caps on my bottles because I'm tired of unscrewing them every time I want water. Unfortunately, white deposits form on sports caps after a few weeks of use. You can wash it off, but it's very difficult. I'm not sure if it's dried water on the rubber or dead skin (yes I know it's awful) but I just wish they found a better solution. I tried a third party cap and it worked great for avoiding these issues, but it was expensive and didn't provide the same amount of water flow, causing me to just turn off and prompting me to go back to using sports caps. everyone, i love Klean Kanteen. I know Hydroflask is new to the market and most people have them but I will always be loyal to this brand and will buy them as long as they sell them. Hell, maybe I don't have to. These things can outlive me.
