For the price I decided to give it a try despite mixed reviews. I found that the hose was almost identical to the original except for the slightly different color (darker purple than my vacuum) and even with the darker color it still looks a lot better than the tape I had to put on the old hose . so my vacuum cleaner still works. This replacement hose fitted well, the hose slid through the hose perfectly and I thought its build quality was the same as a genuine Dyson part. Will it hold up over time? Well, I got a new hose because the Dyson hose failed very early in the life of vacuum cleaners, so the Dyson didn't exactly set the bar high. It could last as long as the Dyson part but at 40% the price of a Dyson part I think that would be an improvement. If it goes longer, the better. Update: No problems for a year. If it breaks it will last about as long as the Dyson original and I would order this model again rather than a factory part.
