My (20 year old) ceiling fan had this remote (Hampton Bay HB_343-668 Ceiling Fan Remote) which failed after 3 years. It was $35 at HomeDepot and $30 at Revain. Bought this from Revain for $15 and it worked great. The receiver is about half the size of a Hampton Bay, so it fits easily in a fan shroud. The cables are labeled so installation is easy. Lights are turned on or off while Hampton Bay had 3 modes: low, medium and bright. I rarely if ever use dark settings so this was pointless to me but if you need dark settings for light this is not the option for She. You will also need 2 AA batteries for the transmitter, batteries are not included. It was only installed for 2 days so I can't vouch for its durability but it works great and the remote control is very good.
