Boy this ethernet switch is small, fits almost anywhere and works so far but I just got it so only time will tell. To really take advantage of the speed, I'd have to replace all my Category 5 Ethernet cables with Category 6 cables, which I'm not ready or willing to do. I get 90-93 Mbps for large file transfers on my network so can't really complain. I checked my system, and only one of my three laptops has a Gigabit Ethernet port, which limits data transfer rates to just under 100Mbps. I found a small free application on the Internet to check the speed of data transfer over the network. When I check from a computer with a gigabit port on the NAS installed on my gigabit router, I get a data transfer rate of around 300Mbps. I feel like the speed is now limited by the hard drive I have on use the router. Based on this, I buy a Gigabit Ethernet to USB3 adapter for the main server on my network. He will come tomorrow and I will report later on his work. Another beauty of this switch is that the port LEDs are green for 10/100/1000 ports and amber for 10/100 ports. This is really a big help.
