If you're familiar with the big names in the art world, you've heard of Faber-Castell. The company has built a fantastic reputation and a loyal following. After buying them and using them for a few drawings I totally understand why. These are serious professional pastel pencils. They are amazing, the colors are rich and vibrant. Subtle changes in color printing allow each color to reproduce the full range from pale, subtle tones to bright, vibrant colors. They blend beautifully when dry and almost magically when used with spirits and blends. My only regret is that I didn't dig around enough to see if there are larger sets for sale with a wider range of colors. Well, maybe next Christmas.
