I have a collection of IBM keyboards, including the classic M and M-13 (black, rubber dome with trackpoint). Both use PS/2 connectors and the M-13 requires two such connectors (keyboard and mouse). I bought this cheap one from Office Depot a few years ago. This one worked fine for years, but lately it's started to fail me. I found my keyboard unusable for several minutes, I had to unplug it from the USB port and then plug or unplug the keyboard to reset it. When plugged in for the first time, the keyboard lights up. went crazy and it didn't work. I disabled everything and tried again. After that it worked. Since then it has been working reliably and without problems for a few weeks. So I'm inclined to think the original error was an accident. If you have an "old mechanical keyboard" like me and use modern computer hardware, you need one of these.
