Review on ☕ Coleman QuikPot Propane Coffee Maker: Enhance Your Outdoor Brewing Experience by Adina Jordan

Great coffee maker - allows you to make the rest of your breakfast while the coffee is brewing!

I just brewed my first two cups of coffee with this amazing coffee maker! I love this item and am so glad I bought it. My nickname on all hikes is "Breakfast" and I like to do that for my friends. I bought this coffee maker for several reasons: 1) I wanted to free up the burner normally reserved for boiling water - burners are never enough 2) I liked the idea of making coffee while I lined up for the rest of breakfast. Imagine standing over a Melitta filter and waiting for hot water to flow drop by drop through the coffee grounds while you still have to prepare the rest of your breakfast? Pour in the coffee grounds, pour in the water, turn on the burner and be back in 15 minutes! People who complain that it takes too long are coffee drinkers. I'm not sitting at the coffee machine waiting for my first cup - I've got work to do! I also tried the first cup feature and it works as expected. Like all of my home coffee makers, I can remove all of these parts. It's just something else that can go wrong if you're not looking. Again, I'm not waiting for the first cup to work! The truth is that when you use the first cup feature, it's REALLY REALLY strong coffee. I like coffee from a full pot - the taste needs to be averaged from the moment the ground coffee gets wet to the moment it's soaked in water - the first cup is too strong! I wouldn't use a burner to keep the coffee warm, although you can. It's a waste of precious propane. My coffee is usually poured directly into a large 51 ounce stainless steel vacuum insulated thermos - I'm serving a large party and a 10 cup jug will not fit. What I plan to do is pour the boiled water I use to preheat the thermos (recommended to extend the brewing time of the hot coffee) into the 2nd pot coffee maker. This should speed up the brewing time! Also note that this coffee maker is made from carefully crafted sheet metal surrounding a 4500 BTU propane burner. EVERYTHING under the coffee pot (front and back) is VERY HOT! Happy drinking outdoors!
