Small design flaw. The carafe holds up to 12 cups, but the coffee pot tank only holds 8 cups of water. So to make a full glass carafe of coffee, you need to add 4 more cups of water to the tank after the brew cycle to make a full 12 cups. I actually think that a few cups of water will evaporate during the brew cycle, making this problem even worse. It's a little frustrating having to watch the pot while brewing to add more water, but other than that it's a great coffee maker! Also, make sure to

If you want well-brewed coffee, buy it.

I like it very much so far. I tested it out in my garden last weekend - just run some water through as they suggest for the first run and then some coffee. The gas port on the back fits perfectly. One click of the starter button and you're on your way to caffeine as usual. I've read other reviews that say you can't fill it with a full 10 cups of water (actual pot size) because the tank won't hold. That's true, but since you're on a hike and will likely have time, add a little more water after…

Replaced my still working Camping Stove Coffee Pot

I bought a Coleman Stove Top Coffee Pot a few years ago and while I thoroughly enjoyed it, every morning was a constant struggle in my own head. Should I make my wife happy and make breakfast first? Or should I make myself happy and brew my own coffee first? None of us are nice people if we're denied what we like, so I broke down and bought this when I had enough dollars saved to make it. I like the coffee pot very much. There's nothing I don't like about it, well, a few things, but I'll get to

I just brewed my first two cups of coffee with this amazing coffee maker! I love this item and am so glad I bought it. My nickname on all hikes is "Breakfast" and I like to do that for my friends. I bought this coffee maker for several reasons: 1) I wanted to free up the burner normally reserved for boiling water - burners are never enough 2) I liked the idea of making coffee while I lined up for the rest of breakfast. Imagine standing over a Melitta filter and waiting for hot water to flow…

Worked well until it caught fire

Considering this review is about a coffee maker it will probably be long like all coffee related reviews. I bought this from Revain in the summer of 2016 for camping use. Took it to Burning Man and used it for 2 weeks, 4 years in a row. I kept it in a dust free box during the day when not in use (Burning Man is quite dusty) and cleaned it thoroughly at the end of the camping time. I found that the coffee pot took about 20 minutes to brew and there was a slight water loss, presumably due to…
