Review on πŸ‘’ Rubber-Cal Coir Boot Scraper Brush - Herringbone Design - 2.5" x 12" x 13" (10-100-009) by Tony Cole

Revainrating 3 out of 5

One of the three only lasted a month

We do extensive gardening, digging up bushes, replanting lawns and transplanting trees. Despite the hype surrounding scratching shoes and two different types of heavily textured "scratch mats" on the outside of the porch, the house is still covered in dirt. I ordered three of these, one for each record, to try and get a better grip on them. Obviously they work better than mats as the longer, stiffer bristles penetrate deeper into the shoe/boot treads, but you have to really snuggle up and pull the shoe in all directions many times to get between the spikes and the troughs. . on the soles. Despite this effort, I found that about 20% sand remained on the shoes. The door to the backyard receives the most visitors. Four adults used this scraper and after a month it started falling apart. The bristle strips with raised edges are wired to a heavy wire frame with two poorly made wire loops that come loose. I was going to return it for a replacement but I would have to return all 3 so I put it back in and made sure to secure it better. I'm still looking for a better scraper and will be looking at build quality items. I'm absolutely willing to pay more to keep most of the dirt in the garden and not on our cherry floors.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
