Review on Dorman 901-725 Liftgate Release Switch - Compatible with Toyota Models by Athenasby Whitney

I bought a used 2013 4Runner and have had intermittent problems with the fuse. One day when I was reaching for the tailgate handle, I noticed that it had melted and sagged in the middle. I ordered a new rubber cover and was able to mount it from the outside. I was unable to hook the edges of the rubber cover slider under the metal tailgate. I was always afraid that water could get in there. Eventually I thought maybe the camera worked intermittently because the sunroof release button unlocked well, but it took a long time to reset itself so the camera thought it wasn't activated and should be working. I ordered this replacement part. and the tailgate removed. If you take cover, there's a large, heavy plastic cover on the back. DO NOT CUT! Slowly and carefully peel it away from the black, tarry glue around the edges. This material will slowly peel off and reapply. I found it useful to cut off the black resin with scissors when peeling off the plastic. Many screws removed and the tailgate mechanism completely removed and disassembled. Lots of work to get the part. Put a new part in and put it all back together and now my camera and sunroof bracket work great! So happy with my purchase. Definitely recommend this product!
