I wanted this to test the moisture level of the sand in my jet and my firewood. It is at a fair price, shipped quickly and arrived before the expected date. It is very EASY to use. If I bought firewood (chopped myself) then this saves you from buying undried firewood. It also allowed me to ensure my firewood was properly seasoned. My aged ash wood is tested at 10 to 12 percent humidity. Unseasoned wood is tested about 25-40 percent. Operation is easy. He asks what kind of wood you are testing. (Don't worry if you're not sure. I tested my ash with all four available types and it only varied by 1 or 2 percent.) After selecting one of the four types in "Mode," plug in two small probes into the tree. and read the result. If it saves you from buying a bundle or bundles of raw firewood, then it's worth it. I also use it for my forest. I'm trying to separate seasoned wood from unseasoned wood, but I end up with guesswork along the way.
