Review on Homewerks VSV CPV E3B Valve Solvent 2 Inch by Jeremy May

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a good valve that stops water.

I've been hesitant between using a check valve or a ball valve but have had some issues with the later of the last few uses so we'll see how long this lasts. I don't turn valves on/off often, but after discovering that my current home only has a shut-off valve in the corner of a very narrow subway train, I figured a 10 minute trip to this room when I noticed a leak somewhere had that was no longer needed. A viable alternative, which is why I install valves in all the important places...bathroom, sink, kitchen sink, hot water tank, outside fixtures, and so on. The last time I had to pull a ball valve off, the inner stem broke in the open position, ending it back underground. The check valve is much easier to handle without exerting much pressure and you don't have to worry about the inner shaft breaking easily. I'm not a fan of PVC, but I didn't have an alternative due to the cost of copper and the difficulty of sweating joints in tight spaces. I use ball valves in my extensive irrigation system because if one of these breaks it's cheap to replace and all the water is out so I can turn it off for an extended period of time before making repairs. No problem and for the price under $5 this was better than home centers.
