I couldn't spend $70 on an OEM cable so I started looking for an option. Found this cable here at Revain and decided to give it a try, especially for the price. The reviews suggested it would probably work, so I ordered. After it arrived I loaded a couple of MP3s onto an older 128GB flash drive, plugged it into a socket in the glove compartment, turned on the MMI system and was frustrated to see that it wouldn't connect at first. . I fiddled with it a bit and then the display said it found the hard drive but the files are unreadable. I tried another old flash drive and MMI found it and read and played the files. The key turned out to be formatting. MMI recognized Fat32 but not exfat. I've re-uploaded the files onto a brand new 128GB flash drive formatted to Fat32 and I'm in business. Now all that remains is to determine longevity. If I run into any issues I'll update this review, but so far so good.
