Works perfectly so far in 2013 VW Tiguan SE, arrived on time as described by the seller. Just hope it lasts, much cheaper than the same factory/OEM VW part. I believe the same OEM VW part is over $40. I cannot comment on negative reviews about charging. At the moment I pop in a 32GB stick to access my music, (not the phone) I still rarely have to charge the phone in the car, I don't use my phone that much. I bought it for USB music streaming and it works for that purpose.

I was forced to keep up with the times when I recently bought a 2011 VW Jetta Sportswagen to complement my 2007 Corolla with 6 CD multiplayer substitute. Jetta only plays 1 CD and I need my tunes. The Elonn MDI AMI adapter was perfect for connecting my MP3 player and now I have an endless selection of tunes that play automatically and produce great sound.
