I bought the USB version for my 2012 Golf and I love it. My car originally came with Apple's 30-pin connector, which I never liked because it didn't fit my phone well and the short cable led it out of the center console at an awkward angle. And for a number of years I haven't had any devices that fit the 30 pin connector, so I've only used a CD changer and sometimes an AUX cable. I loaded dozens of albums onto a small USB drive and plugged it into this adapter and it immediately started playing with great sound quality. The albums are in folders as I uploaded them and it's easy to use the VW system to select what I want. I love that no battery is required and I can just leave this USB drive in the car all the time without worrying about it.
