Review on 🛠️ Shop Fox D3294 6 Piece Scraper Set by Kyle Rodman

To get an overview I ordered 3 scraper sets: this Shop Fox set, the Crown set and the Veritas set. I'm a power tool enthusiast and fairly new to using cabinet scrapers. The edges of the Shop Fox scrapers looked very rough, much worse than the crown. Each edge required 25 to 30 initial strokes of file compared to 7 or 8 for the crown. After that, buffing and buffing was comparable to crown scrapers. Veritas scrapers are slightly thinner, which helps when leveling wood that isn't perfectly flat. Veritas scrapers have nice edges on all sides, protected by plastic caps on the long sides, and can be polished in just 3 or 4 strokes. Fox and Crown in the store are inexpensive and effective once the edges are in place. For a little more money you get a much better product from Veritas. If you too learn to sharpen like me, the edges of the Shop Fox scrapers (as they come) will definitely increase the learning curve. Preparing the Shop Fox set for work was very tedious and I couldn't figure it out at all until I bought jewelry loupes to see what was going on. Overall, the price-performance ratio is good. highlighted.
