Review on Hayden Automotive 526 Remote Transmission Oil Cooler Kit by Adam Walsh

Good but not strong

Firstly, the TruTrans supplier has always delivered quickly and packaged fairly well. I bought my first Hayden 526 oil cooler in March 2019 for an engine dyno. I started using it in October. I've had less than 30 hours with oil below 180F and 40-55psi according to my gauges. Originally cooled 10W30 oil but had to use heavier 20W50 oil. So I had to disconnect the hoses and completely drain my test system and install a bypass valve while everything was disassembled. I cut the tubing into spiked ends. Pulled the 1st hose - no problems as expected. Pulled on the 2nd hose and the bead between the notch and the 1st rib has opened. I tried to pinch it with pliers and it crumbled. So I just ripped off the rest of that hose and ordered another one on December 23, 2019 - simply because that would be the quickest solution and I have deadlines. TruTrans was fantastic and got it to me around noon early Christmas Eve. One of the fastest deliveries, especially at this time of year. I think after this experience I will only use soldered heatsinks in future builds. As a workaround I installed short hoses with extra connectors and AN6 fittings so I can disconnect and service things without even pulling the hoses out of the notches on the 2nd radiator. Otherwise the unit was good - good fan and failed 20F with oil when the fan was running.
