I really like Haste. a set of knives. They bring a lot of style and design flair to the world of knives without producing anything overly designed and useless. This knife is simple and elegant. It looks a bit odd for a tiny 3.5" paring blade on a much longer (5+") handle, but when in hand it's balanced and precise, just like a paring knife should be. I received it in black (to match other Hast. knives I have) and was impressed with the durability of the black finish, it appears to be powder coated and after a few weeks of use there has been no sign of damage to any part of the blade. Blade or handle. Time will tell whether it will hold up. It was easy to get a sharp edge on the honing steel rod I already have, but so far it's held its edge pretty well. My concern with these given the black finishes is that i have to be very precise and firm when i have to use a sharpening stone at the end to really bring back a great edge a bit expensive compared to many good quality knives at a lower price but so far fi I find that a quality carpet overall is the asking price. After all, if you're looking for a paring knife, you can get a good one for less, but you'll definitely be happy with the ease of use and stylish design if you spend a few bucks more.*** I write reviews. as a hobby because I love trying electronics, clothing, housewares, kitchen appliances and more.
