Good for the price. Not so good spot, better flood

I purchased these 18W cree led's (spot) along with the 36W cree led's (flood). The 18W were mounted to the windshield/side mirror brackets on my jeep while the 36W were mounted to the bumper. The reflectors on the spots are not deep enough to maximize throw. I own many hand held torches in flood and spot light configurations. The deeper reflectors allow a farther throw of the light. The 18w spots have a smooth reflector which differentiates it as a spot light reflector lens while the floods have an orange peel lens cover which diffuses the light in more of a flood pattern. These 18w throw decent compared to stock Jeep halogen bulbs but are nearly ineffective if you upgrade your head lights to HIDS. Another thing I don’t like is they have a slight purplish tint. I’d put these more at 6500k. The 36W I ordered did not have a purple tint and were more true to 6000k. Any kelvin over 6000k diminishes the useable amount of light.Sum it up, these are ok. But I would not buy these for spot lights. As flood lights they are a great buy. I gave the flood 36W a higher review.

Pros
  • MORE THAN A FLOODLIGHT- Effortlessly mounts on A-pillars; use it for reverse lights or mount on the sides of vehicles to supplement driving lights.
Cons
  • The product may malfunction if incorrectly wired or installed.
