Review on 12-Inch Litter Scoop with Plastic Handle - Ethically-Made Chrome Design by Crystal Thompson

The only dustpan I use

I have used these dustpans for many years and hope they will last a long time. They're getting harder and harder to find and in fact I can't find them in local stores anymore. Thank god Revane still has them. Yes, they do break over time and I have a feeling the quality isn't as good as it used to be, but if you're careful they last a decent amount of time. The slots are spaced far enough apart that "unused" litter can be easily sifted back into the bowl, but close enough together to hold small crumbs that have broken off large clumps. Unlike many other cat litters I've tried over the years (both plastic and metal), the spacing of the slots on this spoon is perfect. I have LOTS of cats and I have 6 giant makeshift litter boxes each holding 80lbs of litter. If I was forced to dig into the litter and try to find clumps of urine with this spoon, it would break fairly quickly under the pressure of the litter. But I tip each litter box forward and then pick up the clumps that are stuck to the sides and back of the litter box, since some of my cats pee standing up and aim for their backs or sides. I then tip the litter box back and scoop small bits of litter toward the front of the litter box, picking up any clumps of urine and feces as I scoop. Not only does this ensure I get a very clean tray (including crumbs), but it also keeps the shovel from overstressing the weld point. The second picture is a litter box comparison with two litter boxes and one large adult litter box. The third picture is a comparison of the litter box to the adult giant coated litter box. If you handle these trays with care, you will get your money's worth.
