I've been using this on my cat for years. I don't even clean - I just gently squeeze a few "dolls" at a time every night and he licks them off (apparently he likes it - he likes it). to the vet for the heavy cleaning that exposed him, injured him etc. I go to the vet every year (for several years) she says - can't believe how clean his teeth are! Whatever you do, keep going! I have never had to spend money on any other procedure and my cat never had to go through the agony and stress of having one again! There is almost no plaque on his teeth and his breath is fresh. It will take some time. From time to time I use my finger and pluck his molars. I also feed him organic dry and wet food but without this toothpaste his breath gets bad and plaque builds up. I highly recommend this product.
