Review on πŸ’¨ Enhanced Magnetic Dryer Vent Coupling - MagVent MV-180 by Anthony Robichaud

Rework needed for Vents

Wall anchors don't hold up well. The heads of the screws are too high and hit the wall with the back of the magnet when they snap into place. The wall-side flange is no longer flat when engaged, providing clearance between mating parts. The magnet is pretty strong and has a decent ability to hold together. There is very little room to maneuver between the dryer and the wall chimney. This is my second purchase and I was hoping the product would improve. Unfortunately, it's still in short supply, especially due to the inflated price tag. I don't know of a better choice. I wish there was one. My biggest complaint is the gap when both parts come together. Yes, you can stick a broomstick in it and try to level it up, but that's far from how it's supposed to work. The gap is more like one piece swinging onto the other because it's no longer flat. I'm working on a silicone flange gasket to minimize that. Update 1/2021. Our new washer and dryer set was terrible and we returned it. I took the time to address the main issue of the visible gap between mating parts by inserting a 4" duct fitting into the side hose connector. parts come together. There is a very small edge on the original part. That's what makes it useful. A 4 inch duct connector is available from Revain for a few dollars. I cut it in half so it was only an inch long. Also use foil tape to seal the inside edge after installation. I know it's a lot of fiddling with an already expensive item, but now it works great every time.
