I won one of these in a patchwork competition and really wanted to try it out. This is the first wool mat I've ever used and I love it! I don't have a separate sewing room. My "studio" also serves as a playroom. Because of this, I didn't like having the ironing board ready. I used a table board for a while, but ended up having to push it back every time I needed to trim or cut more fabric. That's great. It fits on the same table as my cutting mat and can be easily set aside when needed. In addition, it seems to me that it reduces the ironing time. I later read that wool retains heat, which allows for faster ironing. This is how it should be, as a few quick passes and my fabric is crisp and ready to cut. Happy with size and product. Would recommend to anyone looking for a space saving option. It's much easier to iron each seam when the mat is already there.
