I hate scooping up the kitty litter so I just don't do it. I have used automatic trays, they are great but expensive and break down from 6 months to 1 year. I've also used the self sift and the one you flip to the side. You still have the same problem, the screen is clogged or the rolls are starting to fall apart. The great thing about these disposables is that I don't make anything. I don't have to play poop or choke on the smell of urine from a small box that's been left unattended for a long time. I just fold and throw it away. I started using two boxes to have a lid but the dogs just ripped off the top one so I gave it up. I have found that the sides of the base are quite high and I don't need a lid. I plan on continuing to use them all the time.
