Perfect Size, However . . . .

I don't understand how or why a manufacturer treats leather with a compound that leaves it smelling HORRIBLE. I shouldn't have to wait for the funk to die, while spreading the funk to the inside of my un-smelly leather purse. It's more than aggravating. So what the nice presentation, the perfect sizing for my needs? If it stinks, it's just not worth it.
