Not satisfied with the network connection of this Zebra label printer

I had another printer from Zebra Labels that was over 5 years old and broke so I bought this one to replace. It won't connect to my small business network using Ethernet cables. My server wouldn't recognize it unless it was connected directly via USB, although it was connected when I typed the direct IP address into the web address. I even called Zebra customer service and spent over an hour on the phone during my lunch break to troubleshoot this issue but couldn't get it to print 1 label over the network connection. In the end they couldn't help me either and the technician told me to call my IT department. Unfortunately, I have a small business and work in the IT department. I'm returning it and trying Brother instead as I've had no problem connecting my regular Brother printer/scanner/fax to our network. I hope that in 2017 I can find a label printer that connects to my network without having to spend more than two hours trying to connect without success.

Pros
  • Easy to use: USB, Ethernet and compatible with media rolls with a core of 1 inch, a maximum diameter of 5 inches and a maximum width of 2.25 inches
Cons
