Inside dimension is about 1/2” shallower due to locking mechanism intruding into safe box.

I received it and the lock mechanism was broke. I clicked on return and it was so easy. I received my replacement 2 days later. It is great and would be great for gifts. One "Con” is that the locking mechanism protrudes into the safe itself so the height clearance is less and my small jewelry box didn’t fit and it is 1 1/2” tall. I just put everything in zip lock baggies so it works for me. On a shelf no one can tell it’s not a real book. I recommend and will buy more for gifts.
